MINING SERVICES DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE BOWEN BASIN
Aerial photos of your yard, fleet and workshop for mining service businesses. Off-lease only: no mine sites and no survey work. $199 for photos, $399 with video.
THE PROBLEM
WHAT TENDER PACKS AND RECRUITMENT ADS USUALLY LEAN ON.
Tender packs, recruitment ads and websites for mining service businesses usually rely on a few phone photos of a shed or a supplier's stock shot. A wide aerial of the yard, the fleet and the workshop shows how big the operation is and how it is set out, in a way a paragraph of text cannot.
WHY IT MATTERS
WHERE THE PHOTOS GET USED.
- 01A capability statement or tender pack with a real photo of your yard says more than a paragraph about your facilities.
- 02A recruitment ad with your own yard, fleet and workshop shows people where they would be turning up.
- 03Your website and Google profile stop relying on supplier photos or stock images.
- 04One flight gives you stills and a short video for the site, and a vertical reel for social.
WHAT YOU GET
WHAT'S INCLUDED.
What I do and don't do
OFF-LEASE ONLY.
I fly over your own yard, workshop, depot or fleet park, in town or on your own land. I do not fly on mine sites or mining leases, and I do not do survey, mapping or stockpile volume work. That needs a registered surveyor and different equipment, and it is a different job from photos.
Where I work
MORANBAH, EMERALD, MACKAY AND THE REST.
I am based in Rockhampton. The towns I cover for mining service businesses include Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount, Clermont, Blackwater, Emerald, Mackay, Gladstone and Biloela. Most of them are a long way out, so I work by trips.
Emerald, Moranbah, Mackay, Biloela and other towns more than two hours from Rockhampton work differently. I book trips when a few jobs are lined up in your area, and the travel cost is split across every job on that day. Tell me your town and what you need, and I will let you know when a trip is planned there.
The rules
WHAT THE DRONE CAN AND CAN'T DO.
I am a CASA accredited operator with a registered drone, and I fly under CASA's rules for small drones. For a yard job that comes down to this.
- It flies in daylight only, and I keep it in sight the whole time.
- It stays under 120 metres.
- It does not fly over houses, streets or crowds.
- It keeps 30 metres from anyone who is not part of the job, so staff and customers need to stand clear while it is in the air.
- Parts of Rockhampton and Gracemere are close to the airport. I check the airspace for every address before I quote it, and if the answer is no I tell you straight away.
- Wind and rain move the job to another day.
HOW IT WORKS
THE PROCESS.
SEND YOUR TOWN AND YARD
Tell me the address and what the photos are for. I check the airspace and whether the site is off-lease.
BOOK THE TRIP
I plan a trip when a few jobs are lined up in your area, and tell you the day and your share of the travel.
THE VISIT
I fly the yard, workshop and fleet, usually inside an hour, and keep clear of anyone not involved in the job.
EDIT AND DELIVERY
I edit the stills, cut the video if you booked it, and send a download link.

- The price and your share of the travel agreed before the trip is booked
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS I GET ASKED.
Do you fly on mine sites?
No. I only fly off-lease, over your own yard, workshop or fleet park. I do not fly on mine sites or mining leases.
Can you do survey, mapping or stockpile volumes?
No. That is survey work, and it needs a registered surveyor and different equipment. I do photos and video.
How much does it cost?
A photo set is $199 for 10 to 15 edited aerial stills. Photos and video is $399: the same stills plus an edited 30 to 60 second video and a vertical reel. Travel is extra and is split across the jobs on the day.
Which towns do you cover?
Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount, Clermont, Blackwater, Emerald, Mackay, Gladstone and Biloela, on a trip. I book trips when a few jobs are lined up in your area, and I will let you know when one is planned for your town.
How does the travel cost work?
The travel cost for the trip is split across every job booked on that day, so the more jobs in your area, the less each one pays. I give you your share before you book.
What can I use the photos for?
Tender documents, capability statements, your website, Google profile, recruitment ads and social media.
READY TO GET STARTED?
TELL ME YOUR TOWN.
Text or call with your town and what the photos are for. I will let you know when a trip is planned there and give you a price before anything is booked.
