CONSTRUCTION DRONE PROGRESS PHOTOS IN ROCKHAMPTON
Drone progress photos for builders and civil crews. $199 a visit, flown from the same angles each time, and a $399 handover reel when the job is done.
THE PROBLEM
WHY PROGRESS IS HARD TO SHOW FROM THE GROUND.
A slab, a shed frame or a stretch of road looks different from every angle, and photos taken by different people on different days never line up. When the owner asks where the job is up to, a folder of phone pictures does not answer it. A drone shot from the same spot each visit does.
WHY IT MATTERS
WHAT REGULAR AERIALS GIVE YOU.
- 01Same positions and angles every visit, so progress lines up from one photo to the next.
- 02A client, owner or certifier can see where the job is up to without a site walk.
- 03A set of dated aerials is handy to attach to a progress claim or an update to the owner.
- 04A clip from each visit builds into a finished-job reel you can show the next client.

Sites that suit
THE SITES THIS WORKS FOR.
Commercial and industrial builds, sheds and slabs, civil and earthworks, and rural builds suit aerial progress photos best. Most of them have open ground around them, which is what the drone rules need.
House builds in a suburban street are usually out. The neighbours' houses and the street fall under the no-flying rules below, so I tell you before you pay for anything.
The rules
WHAT THE DRONE CAN AND CAN'T DO ON A LIVE SITE.
I am a CASA accredited operator with a registered drone, and I fly under CASA's rules for small drones. On a working site this is how it plays out.
- It flies in daylight only, and I keep it in sight the whole time.
- It stays under 120 metres.
- It does not fly over houses, streets or crowds.
- It keeps 30 metres from anyone who is not part of the job, so staff and customers need to stand clear while it is in the air.
- Your crew stay clear of the flight area while the drone is up, and I agree the time with your site supervisor so work can pause for a few minutes.
- Parts of Rockhampton and Gracemere are close to the airport. I check the airspace for every address before I quote it, and if the answer is no I tell you straight away.
- Wind and rain move the job to another day.
Where I work
ROCKHAMPTON, CQ AND FURTHER OUT.
Regular visits are easiest on sites around Rockhampton, Gracemere, Yeppoon and Emu Park, where there is no travel charge. Gladstone and other towns within a couple of hours are quoted when you send me the address.
Emerald, Moranbah, Mackay, Biloela and other towns more than two hours from Rockhampton work differently. I book trips when a few jobs are lined up in your area, and the travel cost is split across every job on that day. Tell me your town and what you need, and I will let you know when a trip is planned there.
HOW IT WORKS
THE PROCESS.
SEND THE SITE
Tell me the address and what stage the job is at. I check the airspace and whether the site can be flown.
FIRST VISIT
I fly the site and set the positions and angles we will repeat. You get the first set of photos and a short clip.
REPEAT VISITS
I come back on the schedule you pick, or at the stages that matter to you, and fly the same angles each time.
HANDOVER REEL
When the job is finished I cut the progress footage into a handover reel, with a vertical version for social.
PER VISIT
FROM $199 A VISIT
Each visit is $199, priced before I fly. There is no travel charge around Rockhampton, Gracemere, Yeppoon and Emu Park. Sites further out are quoted and the travel is shared across the jobs on the day.
- Progress visit$199One site visit: edited aerial stills flown from the same positions and angles each time, plus a short clip.
- Handover reel$399A finished-job film cut from the progress footage, with a vertical version for social.
WHY WORK WITH ME
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT.
- CASA accredited operator with a registered drone
- The same positions and angles on every visit, so the photos line up
- One person on every visit, so the shots stay consistent
- A fixed $199 a visit, priced before I fly
- I tell you up front if a site cannot be flown
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS I GET ASKED.
How much are drone progress photos?
A progress visit is $199: edited aerial stills flown from the same positions and angles each time, plus a short clip. A handover reel cut from the progress footage is $399. There is no travel charge around Rockhampton, Gracemere, Yeppoon and Emu Park.
How often can you visit?
As often as suits the job. Some builders book a fixed schedule and some book at the stages that matter, like slab, frame and lock-up. Every visit is $199.
Can you fly over a live building site?
Yes, as long as nobody who is not part of the job is underneath and the site is not close to houses or a street. I keep 30 metres from people, so your crew stay clear of the flight area for a few minutes while I fly. I agree the time with your site supervisor first.
Do you do house builds?
Mostly not. A drone cannot fly over houses or streets, and most suburban house builds have both. Sheds, commercial and industrial builds, civil works and rural builds usually work. Send me the address and I will tell you.
What is in the handover reel?
It is a finished-job film cut from the footage taken on the progress visits, with a vertical version for Facebook and Instagram. It is $399.
Can you fly in the rain or wind?
No. Wind and rain move the visit to another day, and I fly in daylight only.
READY TO GET STARTED?
